  2. This was very sweet. I love what you say about your kids learning and being more aware of dissabilties. I have a 6 sear old daughter that has a rare type of autism. My two boys, one older and one younger than her are who they are because of Karas. They are sweet, accepting and love everyone no matter what they look like or how they act different. We tell people too that we live our normal. Your normal is a trech baby. Our normal is a daughter with autism. We know no different so that how we live. Thanks!

  4. This was a wonderful video and a wonderful message. I check in every so often to see how both you and Maaike are doing. Your family touches my heart and helps me to remember what is really important.
I love that you made the snug hug pretty. Pretty is also important.
I believe that you and Maaike are going to have an amazing impact on the world.

  5. I am both a respiratory therapist and a Mom. I love that you made your video so personal and that your children view everyone as "normal" due to your own family experiences. I believe it is essential to teach tolerance of differences to our kids so that they can be more accepting of others, not afraid of differences, and happy for what they do have. You are a blessing to others:) Thanks!!!

  7. I stumbled on your blog for sewing ideas and I watched and loved your video. My son has Down syndrome and I can really understand what you mean about having a child with a differing ability and how that really opens your eyes. Before my son was born I feel like our world was very small, but we have really learned that people are all unique and that uniqueness is not something that people should "tolerate," it is what makes the world a special, beautiful place! Your daughter is really beautiful. Best of luck to you and your family.
